Let's start by saying... this is the SECOND truck Emmett has paid off through RT&T Enterprises, Inc! Emmett started driving in 1997, with his first job being as a company driver. He knew that he eventually wanted to own, so over the years he spoke to different Owner Operators and did research on different programs. He had been in leases before RT&T but did not complete them. He originally came to RT&T in 2013, for about a year, then back again in 2015, as RT&T had the program and equipment he wanted. He paid that truck off in 2016 and ran it with RT&T for about 3 more years before deciding it was time to lease another truck.
In comparing other lease programs that he had researched, one of the main advantages of the RT&T program is that there is no balloon payment at the end of the lease - when payments are done, the title is yours. It is set up that payments & expenses are affordable, and along with consistent dispatch, a driver can actually make money. Emmett offered the following advice to new drivers looking to get into a lease - really listen to the recruiter - if they are trying too hard to get you there and skirting around answers, it likely means not everything is on the up & up with what you are being told.
Emmett says he didn't do anything out of the ordinary to get the truck paid off but advises drivers to be diligent and stick with it. He was glad to have the required maintenance escrow, to know there was money put aside to cover truck work. In addition, he was thankful for the help he received from RT&T during any maintenance & breakdown issues, if he didn't have enough in his maintenance escrow, when they offered options to help cover expenses. In working with RT&T Repair, Emmett said they always did an outstanding job, even if there were changes in tech staffing, the quality of work never wavered when new people started.
RT&T would like to congratulate Emmett on his dedication to completing his 2nd lease and wish him great success in his future endeavors!
